Duratek provides management and professional services for several key functions within the Fluor Hanford cleanup team. The Waste Management and Sludge Retrieval and Disposition Projects are lead by Duratek as are the site-wide support services of Environmental Management, Corrective Action Management and Waste Services.

The local Duratek offices are part of the national organization that serves both government and private nuclear facility operators. Duratek is the nation's largest commercial processor of low-level radioactive waste and one of the largest radwaste disposal providers. Additionally, it is one of the world's leading providers of waste vitrification technology.

The list of Company activities is impressive:

  • Duratek operates 34 major federally-owned radioactive waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities
  • Duratek provides on-site water treatment systems for 24 commercial nuclear power plants
  • Duratek has served as the radioactive waste manager for all of the major commercial nuclear power plant decontamination and decommissioning projects to date.

Duratek is an active participant in the Tri-Cities communities, with major support to the United Way, YMCA, TRIDEC, Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau and the Tri-Cities Area Chamber of Commerce.
