SUMMARY OF EDA INVESTMENTS


August 18-22, 2008

EDA announced six investments greater than $100,000 during the period August 18-22, 2008 totaling $10.3 million. These investments are part of projects totaling $24,265,217, creating 4,604 jobs, saving 75 jobs and generating more than $701.6 million in private investment.

$3 million to the city of Calexico, California, to construct infrastructure, including water and street improvements, for the Town Center Plaza and the Portico/Kloke industrial sites. These improvements will further economic growth in Calexico and the entire Imperial Valley region. This investment is part of a $6,105,217 million project that will help create 2,804 jobs and generate $395 million in private investment.

$2 million to the Organized Village of Kake, Alaska, to construct a new floating dock to support the Village of Kake's fishing, nature and cultural tourism industries. The new dock will allow direct access to the Village from ships up to 250 feet long. Currently, cruise ships must ferry passengers to the existing dock, which limits tourist and large industrial traffic. This investment is part of a $2.7 million project that will help create 100 jobs, retain 75 jobs and generate $8 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the Central Carolina Technical College, Sumter, South Carolina, to construct a state-of-the-art health sciences workforce training facility at the Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter. The health sciences facility will address the region's need for a skilled workforce in the growing healthcare industry. This investment is part of a $6.751 million project that will help create 483 jobs and generate $54.6 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to JumpStart Inc., Cleveland, Ohio, to fund business assistance and training to support high-growth, high-potential companies in northeast Ohio. Jumpstart, Inc. will help prepare the region for a transition from old-line, manufacturing industries to a high-tech, entrepreneurial-based economy. This investment is part of a $3 million project that will help create 650 jobs and generate $43 million in private investment.

$1.3 million to the city of Huntingburg, Indiana, to construct improvements to the city's wastewater treatment plant. The improvements will accommodate existing businesses and permit future industrial growth as the city attracts and supports additional development within all economic sectors and clusters. This investment is part of a $2.709 million project that will help create 300 jobs and generate $83 million in private investment.

$1 million to the city of Clovis, New Mexico, to construct industrial park improvements, including rail access, street and water infrastructure, required for business growth and development. The park, which focuses on alternative energy and green industries, will be able to expand once these improvements are made and enhance regional competitiveness through its focus on emerging and innovative industries. This investment is part of a $3 million project that will help create 267 jobs and generate $118 million in private investment.

EDA announced one investment greater than $100,000 during the period August 11-15, 2008 totaling $1.9 million. This investment is part of a project totaling $4,763,011 that will help create 490 jobs and generate $49 million in private investment.

$1.9 million to the city of Salem and the state of Oregon Department of Administrative Services, Salem, Oregon, for a joint investment to support the first phase of wetlands restoration and storm water improvements to Mill Creek Industrial Park. This investment is part of a $4,763,011 project that will help create 490 jobs and generate $49 million in private investment.

June 16-20, 2008

EDA announced nine investments greater than $100,000 during the period June 16-20, 2008 totaling $6,713,600. These investments are part of projects totaling $14,929,000, creating 2,680 jobs and generating more than $123 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the Ohio County Public Service District, Triadelphia, West Virginia, to support improvements to the water system in the Highlands Industrial Park, located in Ohio County, West Virginia. The improvements will ensure an adequate supply of water to accommodate development and expansion of businesses in the Ohio Valley, impacting Ohio and Marshall Counties in West Virginia and Belmont County in Ohio. This investment is part of a $4.5 million project that will help create 500 jobs and generate $50 million in private investment.

$1 million to the city of North Little Rock and Pulaski Technical College, Arkansas, for a joint investment to support construction of an aviation technology facility at the North Little Rock Municipal Airport to train more workers for the regional aviation cluster. This investment is part of a $2.745 million project that will help create 360 jobs and generate private investment in excess of $1 million.

$1 million to the Floresville Independent School District, Texas, to fund the purchase and installation of equipment for the Floresville Early College and Technology Center. The Center will offer high-tech workforce and educational training to the student population and unskilled adult workforce of Wilson and surrounding counties, enabling them to compete for better, higher-paying jobs. This investment is part of a $2 million project that will help create 220 jobs and generate private investment in excess of $2 million.

$900,000 to the city of White Hall, Arkansas, for construction of improvements to the water system, including installation of an elevated water tank and water service lines. The improvements are necessary to support the city's growing population and to accommodate development of a medical services complex in White Hall. This investment is part of a $1.617 million project that will help create 50 jobs and generate $6.8 million in private investment.

$700,000 to the Central Arkansas Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc., Arkansas, to support expansion of a facility in Phillips County for curing, grading, packaging, shipping and storing sweet potatoes which will allow area businesses and residents to operate and earn income year-round. This investment is part of a $1 million project that will help create 26 jobs and generate $1.2 million in private investment.

$600,000 to the city of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, to support construction of a Technology Innovation and Development Center at the LindenPointe Innovative Business Campus in Mercer County. The Center will provide training opportunities to enhance the City’s emerging semi-conductor and electronics clusters, as well as the biomedical and biotechnical clusters. This investment is part of a $1.2 million project (includes $200,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission) that will help create 200 jobs and generate $2 million in private investment.

$500,000 to the Technological Research and Development Authority and the Brevard Workforce Development Board, Inc., for a joint investment to support a strategic plan to mitigate the anticipated workforce and economic impacts on the Space Coast Region expected from the announced termination of the NASA Space Shuttle program and transition to the NASA Constellation program. This investment is part of a $1 million project.

$300,000 to Northeast Community College, Norfolk, Nebraska, to support construction of a lab-intensive industrial training facility on the campus of Northeast Community College in South Sioux City. This investment is part of a $600,000 project that will help create 1,300 jobs and generate $60 million in private investment.

$213,600 to the city of Kaltag, Alaska, to help purchase automated equipment for a city-owned salmon and roe processing facility. This investment is part of a $267,000 project that will help create more than 24 new jobs and generate private investment in excess of $20,000.

June 9-13, 2008

EDA announced 12 investments greater than $100,000 during the period June 9-13, 2008 totaling $9.092 million. These investments are part of projects totaling $18,556,110, creating 1,645 jobs, retaining 198 jobs, and generating $827.8 million in private investment.

$1.642 million to Hancock County and Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission, Mississippi, for a joint investment to construct a rail spur and switching track to serve new industry locating in the Port Bienville Industrial Park. This investment is part of a $2.346 project that will help create 275 jobs and generate $100 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the city of Kingsport, Tennessee, to support construction of an addition to a city-owned building leased by the Durham Company, a manufacturer and distributor of equipment for electric utilities. The addition will accommodate the company's planned expansion, which will bring new jobs, private investment and training in advanced manufacturing technology to the region. This investment is part of a $4,818,389 project that will help create 714 jobs and generate $530.4 million in private investment.

$1 million to the Etowah Utilities Board and the city of Etowah, Tennessee, for a joint investment to support construction of improvements to Etowah's wastewater treatment plant. These improvements allow for continued expansion of the city's diverse economic base, which includes commercial, industrial business and residential-related services. This investment is part of a $2,394,725 project that will help create 100 jobs, retain 188 jobs and generate $162 million in private investment.

$1 million to the University of South Carolina, Columbia, for construction of wet labs and other improvements for the establishment of a technology incubator on the Inovista Research Campus at the University of South Carolina. This investment is part of a $2,087,227 project that will help create 113 jobs and generate more than $500,000 in private investment.

$1 million to the city of Franklin, Kentucky, to support the Franklin Fiber Optic Loop Project, which includes installation of a fiber optic cable network that will link businesses and educational sites in Franklin to industry in Bowling Green to create high-tech, high-skilled jobs and attract private investment in manufacturing, research and development, and the financial service sectors. This investment is part of a $2,006,198 project that will help create 308 jobs, retain 10 jobs and generate $18.9 million in private investment.

$1 million to the city of Houston, Missouri, to support construction of the Kingsport Higher Education Center, which will be a green building, constructed in accordance with the United States Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards for new construction. The facility will include computer and wet labs and other spaces designed for workforce training in engineering, math, science, and other industry-specific skills necessary to meet the growing demand for skilled workers in the region's high tech industries. This investment is part of a $1,428,600 project that will help create 75 jobs and attract private investment in excess of $3 million.

$750,000 to Rice County, Kansas, to support improvements to gravel roads in the town of Chase. These improvements will enable the expansion of the country's largest shell egg producer and help insure that the business stays in Rice County, saving and creating new jobs in the area. The road improvements will also benefit local agricultural producers and suppliers. This investment is part of a $1.5 million investment that will help create 60 jobs and generate $13 million in private investment.

$390,000 to the Yavapai-Apache Nation, Camp Verde, Arizona, to support development of a business plan and a master site plan for a commercial/industrial site at the gateway to Montezuma's Castle Highway in the Verde Valley. This plan will help the Yavapai-Apache Nation transition to a more varied economy. This investment is part of $543,000 project.

$250,000 to the East-Central Idaho Planning and Development Association, DBA The Development Company, Idaho, to support a strategy for development and the start-up phase of an entrepreneurial service center to provide educational and advisory services to support new business creation in the eastern Idaho counties of Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Butte, Caribou, Clark, Custer, Franklin, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison, Oneida, Powell and Teton. This investment is part of a $500,000 project.

$250,000 to the University of Michigan to support a business incubator study focusing on the development and creation of tools for business incubator practitioners to foster best practices for measuring successful businesses and economic development. This investment is part of a $311,971 project.

$200,000 to Technology 2020, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to support development of a technology-driven economic development strategy for the sixteen-county Innovation Valley region of east Tennessee. The strategy will provide a collaborative blueprint to help the region capitalize on its unique science and technology assets. This investment is part of a $400,000 project.

$110,000 to Lewis County Economic Development Council, Chehalis, Washington, to fund a feasibility study for converting the site of the closed TransAlta coal mine in Centralia into an industrial park. This investment is part of a $220,000 project.

June 2-6, 2008

EDA announced two investments greater than $100,000 during the period June 2-6, 2008 totaling $2,621,440. These investments are part of projects totaling $5,777,880, creating 513 jobs, retaining 350 jobs, and generating $15.8 million in private investment.

$1,621,440 to the Ravalli County Economic Development Authority and the city of Hamilton for a joint investment to support construction of the new Ravalli Entrepreneurship Center in Hamilton, Montana. The Center will enable Ravalli County to further its efforts to diversify the regional economy by growing the emerging regional technology and bio-medical clusters, offsetting economic dislocations associated with the downturn in the regional forestry industry. This investment is part of a $3,242,880 project that will help create 253 jobs and generate $11.8 million in private investment.

$1 million to the City of La Feria, Texas to fund expansion of wastewater infrastructure for the city of La Feria in Texas’ Lower Rio Grande Valley to accommodate commercial development and expansion. This investment is part of a $2.535 million project that will help create 260 jobs, retain 360 jobs and generate private investment in excess of $4 million.

May 26-30, 2008

EDA announced nine investments greater than $100,000 during the period May 26-30, 2008 totaling $12.139 million. These investments are part of projects totaling $30,915,240, creating 2,999 jobs, retaining 3,180 jobs, and generating $234.5million in private investment.

$1.932 million to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to support construction of the Applied Technology Building, which will house an aeronautical and aerospace engineering research and development incubator, phase one of the Embry-Riddle Business and Research Park. This new research park at Embry-Riddle, the world’s largest university specializing in aviation and aerospace, will enable product development, research and fabrication for the advancing technology industry in northern Arizona. This investment is part of a $3,882,840 project that will help create 321 jobs and attract $15 million in private investment.

$1.7 million to Bristol Bay Borough, Naknek, Alaska to support expansion of the Port of Bristol Bay, the only deep water facility in southwest Alaska. The dock that will be replaced as part of the expansion is located at the heart of the Bristol Bay salmon industry and is the incoming site for all cargo for the region. The project will support the fishing, fish processing and transportation industries, which account for more than 7,600 local jobs in 31 communities. This investment is part of a $4.6 million project that will help create 350 jobs, retain 2,500 jobs and generate $13 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the University of Massachusetts Boston to fund renovations to Wheatly Hall on the campus of the University of Massachusetts Boston to house the Venture Development Center (VDC). The renovated space will house a state-of-the-art life science industrial lab facility, which will have a substantial and lasting impact on the revitalization of the local and regional economy. The VDC is expected to directly support $5 million annually in sponsored research and development activity. This investment is part of a $4.235 million project that will help create 150 jobs and generate $12.5 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to Alaska Works Partnership, Inc., Anchorage, Alaska, to fund construction and equipment for an arctic pipeline training site in Fairbanks North Star Borough. The training site and equipment will prepare Alaska’s workforce for high-skilled jobs in the fast-growing oil and gas industries. This investment is part of a $3 million project that will help create 1,000 jobs and generate $60 million in private investment.

$1.315 million to the Village of Howard City, Michigan, to support construction of improvements to the Village of Howard City's municipal wastewater treatment plant necessary for business development in the 260-acre Renaissance Zone. This will serve to re-employ workers who have been affected by major manufacturing plant closures in the region. This investment is part of a $2.630 million project that will help create 630 jobs and generate $61.8 million in private investment.

$1.25 million to Colleton County and the Technical College of the Lowcountry, South Carolina, for a joint investment to support construction of a workforce training center in the city of Walterboro. The center will provide on-going training for workers in business and manufacturing-related industries and will serve as a stimulus for new investment and job growth in southeastern South Carolina. This investment is part of a $2,652,500 project that will help create 348 jobs, retain 300 jobs and generate $27 million in private investment.

$1.2 million to the Industrial Development Board of Blount County, Tennessee, to fund road access and other improvements for the Pellissippi Research Centre, a mixed-use park that combines corporate development, research and technology components in a college campus-type setting. The Centre will complement other high-tech industrial parks and incubators in East Tennessee's Innovation Valley. This investment is part of a $4,095,400 project that will help retain 380 jobs and attract $26 million in private investment.

$1 million to the city of Crossville, Tennessee, to support construction of improvements to Crossville's wastewater treatment plant. These improvements allow for the continued expansion of the city's diverse economic base, which includes commercial, industrial, business and residential-related services. This investment is part of a $4.892 million project that will help create 200 jobs and generate $19.2 million in private investment.

$742,000 to the Governor’s Office for Local Development, Frankfort, Kentucky, to support development and implementation of comprehensive economic development strategies (CEDS) for much of the state of Kentucky. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy. This investment is part of a $927,500 project that will help establish an economic development planning framework, process and strategy that supports private capital investment and job creation in the region.

May 19-23, 2008

EDA announced three investments greater than $100,000 during the period May 19-23, 2008 totaling $4.022 million. These investments are part of projects totaling $8.044 million, creating 3,806 jobs, saving 111 jobs and generating private investment in excess of $207.4 million.

$2 million joint investment to the University of Las Vegas Research Foundation and Clark County, Nevada, to support construction of infrastructure for Phase I development of the Harry Reid Research and Technology Park. The state-of-the-art research park will diversify the regional economy, creating intellectual property and entrepreneurs to compete in the global market place. This investment is part of a $4 million project that will help create 3,659 jobs, retain 6 jobs and generate $187.5 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the Oceanic Institute, Waimanalo, Hawaii, to support construction of the Oceanic Learning Center, an addition to the Center for Applied Aquaculture and Marine Biotechnology in Honolulu. The Oceanic Learning Center will allow the transfer of research technology to the aquaculture industry in Hawaii and to the Pacific Island territories. The Center will offer hands-on-training in high-tech aquaculture sciences to aquaculture technicians, local aquaculture farmers and marine science students attending Hawaii Pacific University. This investment is part of a $3 million project that will help create 100 jobs, retain 105 jobs and generate more than $12 million in private investment.

$522,000 joint investment to the city of Earlington and Hopkins County, Kentucky, to fund sewer system improvements necessary for development of an industrial park near the Pennyrile Parkway in Earlington. Two new manufacturers will locate in the park and provide services to the coal mining industry of western Kentucky. This investment is part of a $1,044,000 project that will help create 47 jobs and generate private investment in excess of $7.9 million.

May 12-16, 2008

EDA announced two investments greater than $100,000 during the period May 12-16, 2008 totaling $3.32 million. These investments are part of projects totaling $6.499 million, creating more than 750 jobs and generating private investment in excess of $62.7 million.

$3.2 million for a joint investment with the Corcoran Joint Unified School District and the City of Corcoran, California, to support construction of infrastructure for a job training center adjacent to Corcoran High School to serve residents of King County. This investment is part of a $6.2 million project that will help create 750 jobs and generate $62.7 million in private investment.

$120,000 to the Puget Sound Regional Council, Seattle, Washington, to support preparation of a strategy for development, expansion and diversification of tourism and military economic clusters in the counties of King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish. The strategic plan will lead to collaborative action to retain and expand investments and provide metrics for measuring success. This investment is part of a $298,250 project.

April 28-May 2, 2008

EDA announced four investments greater than $100,000 during the period April 28-May 2, 2008 totaling $558,360. These investments are part of projects totaling $932,720.

$150,000 to the Big Sky Economic Development Authority, Billings, Montana, to fund the development of a comprehensive master plan for the East Billings Urban Renewal District to enhance the economic viability of the city of Billings. This investment is part of a $300,000 project.

$150,000 to the University of Guam to support macroeconomic data collection and reporting by the University of Guam’s Pacific Center for Economic Initiatives and provides technical assistance for using the data and business resource guides to small businesses, community organizations and public policy makers. This assistance will help Guam officials promote its economic base and prepare its resources for the pending BRAC-ordered transfer of a large military unit from Okinawa to Guam. This investment is part of a $200,000 project.

$133,360 to the state of Hawaii, Honolulu, for development of a comprehensive economic development strategy for Hawaii. The strategy for each of Hawaii's four counties will be coordinated with the others and be elements of the statewide regional strategic planning, with the means of implementation clearly mapped. This investment is part of a $266,720 project.

$125,000 to the Columbia Pacific Economic Development District, St. Helens, Oregon, to support development of a strategic plan for disaster recovery coordination for the northwestern Oregon counties of Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook, which were devastated by floods from the December 2007 storms. The Columbia Pacific Economic Development District, the EDA-funded economic development district servicing these counties, will work with local, state and federal officials to identify and implement strategies and procedures for using available resources to support economic recovery and revitalize the region’s economy. This investment is part of a $170,000 project.

March 21-28, 2008

EDA announced seven investments greater than $100,000 during the period March 21-28, 2008 totaling $2,718,004. These investments are part of projects totaling $5,442,138, creating more than 89 jobs and generating private investment in excess of $4 million.

$1.2 million to Northern New Mexico College, Española, to fund construction of an automotive technology training facility on the Española campus. The new facility will allow the College to relocate its automotive technology program from El Rito to accommodate a greater number of north central New Mexico residents. Graduates will be prepared to work in small businesses or become entrepreneurs themselves. This investment is part of a $2.4 million project that will create 50 jobs and generate more than $800,000 in private investment.

$700,000 to the town of Hagerman, New Mexico, to support the design and construction of two buildings and related infrastructure improvements necessary for development of an industrial park for the town of Hagerman. The development of the industrial park is part of the regional strategy to convert unused and unusable farm land to valuable industrial and commercial property. This investment is part of a $1.4 million project that will help create 39 jobs and attract private investment in excess of $3.2 million.

$169,884 to the Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Regional Commission, Escanaba, Michigan, to support development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) in the region served by the Central Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Regional Commission, which comprises Alger, Delta, Dickinson, Marquette, Menominee, and Schoolcraft counties. The CEDS process is designed to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic development roadmap to diversify and strengthen the regional economy. This investment is part of a $242,691 project.

$165,700 to Auburn University, Alabama, to fund the third year of a three-year University Center program located at Auburn University. The scope of work focuses on providing technical assistance and applied research to help increase productivity, spur innovation and entrepreneurship, and increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification. This investment is part of a $360,410 project.

$165,700 to the University of Tennessee, Nashville, to fund the third year of a three-year University Center program located at the University of Tennessee. The scope of work focuses on providing technical assistance and applied research to help increase productivity, spur innovation and entrepreneurship, and increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification. This investment is part of a $354,109 project.

$162,720 to Clemson University, South Carolina, to fund the third year of a three-year University Center program located at Clemson University. The scope of work focuses on providing technical assistance and applied research to help increase productivity, spur innovation and entrepreneurship, and increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification. This investment is part of a $376,928 project.

$154,000 to North Carolina State University, Raleigh, to fund the third year of a three-year University Center program located at North Carolina State University. The scope of work focuses on providing technical assistance and applied research to help increase productivity, spur innovation and entrepreneurship, and increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification. This investment is part of a $308,000 project.

EDA announced 13 investments greater than $100,000 during the period March 14-21, 2008 totaling $16,238,177. These investments are part of projects totaling $39,416,056, creating 3,601 jobs and generating $611 million in private investment.

$3 million for a joint investment with the University of Kansas Medical Research Institute, Inc. and the University of Kansas Medical Center, to support renovation of the Breidenthal building, an on-campus facility, for re-use as a life sciences incubator. The new incubator will provide the infrastructure necessary to promote the growth and recruitment of biotechnology companies to the region and essential to expanding innovation and regional entrepreneurship. This investment is part of a $6.25 million project that will help create 300 jobs and generate $44 million in private investment.

$1.935 million for a joint investment with the city of Lewiston and Nez Perce County, to support construction of multiple infrastructure improvements to the South Park Industrial Park at the Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport. The improvements are necessary to address the economic decline in the region's timber, mining and farming industries and to provide a new competitive edge and accommodate the development and growth of the region's aviation industries. This investment is part of a $3.225 million project that will help create 255 jobs and attract more than $16.2 million in private investment.

$1.63 million to Reed City, Michigan, for construction of improvements to Reed City’s waste water treatment plant. These improvements are necessary for continued expansion of the city's diverse economic base, which includes health related services, an automotive manufacturing cluster, and agricultural processing industries. This investment is part of a $3.495 million project that will help create 80 jobs and generate over $33 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the city of San Bernardino, California, to support construction of multiple street improvements on Cajon Boulevard to accommodate expansion and redevelopment of the underutilized industrial area that includes the North San Bernardino Industrial Park. These improvements will help address San Bernardino's economic distress by increasing its commercial, industrial, transportation and distribution capacities. This investment is part of a $3.75 million project that will help create 750 jobs and generate $115 million in private investment.

$1.25 million for a joint investment with the city of Barnesville and the Lamar County Industrial Development Authority, Georgia, to support construction of multiple infrastructure improvements to roadways, water and sewer systems, site grading and related infrastructure necessary for redevelopment of a high tech industrial site in Lamar County that will diversify the region's economic landscape. This investment is part of a $3,215,282 project that will help create 240 jobs and generate $30.1 million in private investment.

$1 million for a joint investment with the Tellico Area Services System, Loudon County and Monroe County, Tennessee, to support construction of upgrades to the existing waste water treatment plant to dramatically increase capacity. This construction in the Niles Ferry Industrial Park will allow the expansion of existing industries and the location of new manufacturing industry in the Tellico Lake region of east Tennessee. The new plant will end the need to truck sewage for offsite treatment and will allow the construction of a new hospital in order to restore much needed medical services to the community. The investment will also facilitate the expansion of activities at the St. Bernard Parish Port. This investment is part of a $2.826 million project that will help create 115 jobs and generate over $80.9 million in private investment.

$1 million to the Columbia Alliance for Economic Growth, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, to fund roadway, site improvements and infrastructure to support the development of a 52-acre industrial and technology center designed to nurture and attract high technology industries to the area. This investment is part of a $2 million project that will help create 400 jobs and generate $20 million in private investment.

$1 million to the Digital Workforce Academy, Austin, Texas, to support the purchase and renovation of an existing building for development of the Golden Triangle Empowerment Center, a workforce training provider, in Port Arthur, Texas. The facility and supporting training curriculum will provide training to minority and disadvantaged groups to equip them to enter the expanding workforce of the high tech energy sector. This investment is part of a $1.25 million project that will help create 300 jobs and attract more than $250,000 in private investment.

$900,000 to the Wind River Development Fund, Fort Washakie, Wyoming, to fund the design, construction, furnishings and equipment necessary for completion of an entrepreneurship development center on the Wind River Reservation in Fort Washakie. The center will accommodate as many as six new start-up businesses, which will benefit from state-of-the-art support in communications infrastructure, business planning and management assistance. This investment is part of a $3,535,706 project that will help create 200 jobs and generate more than $20 million in private investment.

$839,000 to Rusk County, Wisconsin, to fund infrastructure improvements required for a regional rail transshipment center and industrial park in Rusk County. The region has an ideal location for the transshipment center with an intersection of the Canadian National Railway with railways to the Midwest and to the Gulf of Mexico. The center will support the regional timber industry and the bio-fuel industries. This investment is part of a $1.678 million project that will help create 172 jobs and generate more than $3.8 million in private investment.

$684,177 for a joint investment with the city of Center Hill and Sumter County, Florida, to support infrastructure improvements, including a water line extension, road access and other public facilities necessary to accommodate development of a new cement plant and limestone mining operation. This investment is part of a $1,779,753 project that will help create 118 jobs and generate $229 million in private investment.

$500,000 to the Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, North Carolina, for renovation of an existing facility to house an automotive technology training center for workforce development. The training center will equip workers displaced by the declining furniture and textile industries for jobs in the fast growing aviation, transport, automotive, and mechanical engineering industries. $2 million to PUL (Pontotoc Union Lee) Alliance, Mississippi, to support construction of new water infrastructure running from the city of Tupelo to the Wellspring industrial site, capable of delivering 2 million gallons of water a day to a higher elevation. The water is essential to the operation of a new automotive manufacturing facility in Blue Springs. This investment is part of a $4.647 million project which will help create 2,000 high-paying jobs and leverage $500 million in private investment within three years.

$700,000 to the African American Gallery of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art, Biloxi, Mississippi, for the continued development of the new African American Gallery of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art, which will play an important role in the redevelopment of the Mississippi Gulf Coast tourism industry. This investment is part of a $2.4 million project that will have a major economic impact on the area and provide opportunities for other tourist-related jobs.

$165,700 to Mississippi State University to fund the third year of a three-year University Center program at Mississippi State University. The scope of work focuses on technical assistance and applied research to help increase productivity, spur innovation and entrepreneurship, and increase long-term regional competitiveness and economic diversification. This investment is part of a $7.5 million project that will help create 2,000 new jobs and generate more than $80 million in private investment.

$1 million to Union County, South Carolina, to support the construction of a robotics workforce training center which will be located in the city of Union in upstate South Carolina, an area hard hit by job losses in the textile industries. Robotics manufacturing is key to the growth of the automotive cluster in the Piedmont region. This investment is part of a $1.725 million project that will help create 100 jobs and generate $54 million in private investment.

$1.38 million to the Santa Clarita Community College District, California, to support the purchase of high-technology equipment for the new Emerging Technologies Program at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita. This program provides technical training for future laboratory technicians which will enable them to meet the workforce needs of the region’s expanding biotechnology, nanotechnology and autonomous technology industries. This investment is part of a $2.76 million project that will help create 300 jobs and generate more than $6 million in private investment.

$1.35 million to the American GI Forum, National Veterans Outreach Program, Inc., San Antonio, Texas, to support the construction of a job training and work therapy center in San Antonio to address the needs of displaced veterans, the homeless and the disabled. $1.217 million to the San Carlos Apache Tribe, Arizona, to support construction of a small business incubator facility and provide office space for existing business in the Bylas District Plaza on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. 750,000 to the Kingfield Water District, Maine, to support construction of a new public water supply well and replacement of deteriorated infrastructure to accommodate expansion of existing businesses and attract new commercial investment including a proposed water bottling facility to the Franklin County area. This investment is part of a $1.5 million project that will help create 95 jobs and generate $70 million in private investment.

$500,000 to the Appanoose County Community Railroad, Inc., Centerville, Iowa, to support renovation of more than 20 miles of track to enable the development of an industrial park which will include a new bio-fuels production facility. $815,342 to the Institute for Hepatitis and Virus Research, Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to support technical assistance, training and biotechnology pre-incubator operational activities at the National Center for Bio-Entrepreneurship and Translational Research in Doylestown. This investment is part of a $1,630,684 project that will help foster the development and growth of biotechnology-related businesses, generating private investment and jobs in the region.

$752,000 to Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, to support the expansion of the Sill Business Incubator, a catalyst for entrepreneurial development in the regional economy, and provides the facilities needed to further the expansion of the region’s biotechnology and life science industries. This investment is part of a $1.504 million project that will help create 100 new jobs and attract more than $3 million in private investment.

$6.080 million for a joint investment with the Inland Valley Development Agency and the San Bernardino International Airport Authority, California, to construct improvements to the airport and three buildings of the former Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino as part of an effort to overcome the economic challenges associated with the base closure. This investment, funded by the Department of Defense and administered by EDA, is part of a $6,755,556 project that will help create 400 jobs and generate $10 million in private investment.

$4.560 million to the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, California, for redevelopment of the former Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco to include development of an Infrastructure Master Plan for the Arts and Technology District, as well as infrastructure construction for the redevelopment, including utilities, streetscape and parking improvements. $2.680 million to the city of Parlier, California, to support the construction of infrastructure improvements for the second phase development of the Parlier Bio-Agricultural Industrial Park to accommodate the retention and expansion of the agricultural industry in the region. This investment is part of a $3,731,375 project that will help create 125 jobs and generate private investment in excess of $23 million.

$2.5 million to the Cabrillo Community College District, California to support the construction of a facility that will house the Pajaro Valley Regional Training Center, which will provide skill training in the mechanical trades and industrial technologies. This investment is part of a $5 million project that will help create 430 new jobs and generate $83 million in private investment.

$2.280 million to the city of Victorville, California, to construct infrastructure necessary for the redevelopment of the former George Air Force Base into a multi-modal airport complex for light, medium and heavy industrial usage. The airport, now known as the Southern California Logistics Airport Authority, is designed to diversify the previously military-dependent economy. This investment, funded by the Department of Defense and administered by EDA, is part of a $2,533,334 project that will help create 1,000 jobs and generate $10 million in private investment.

$2 million for a joint investment with the Yuut Elitnaurviat-People’s Learning Center, Inc. and the city of Bethel, Alaska, to fund the final construction and procurement of fixtures and equipment for a facility focused on providing training, education and support services in the health care industry to workers in the region. This investment is part of a $5.58 million project that will help save 50 jobs, create 500 jobs and generate more than $3 million in private investment.

$2 million for a joint investment with the East Baltimore Development, Inc. and the East Baltimore Incubator Corporation, Maryland, to support the build-out of a life sciences facility to house the training and incubator programs for the Bio-Technical Institute of Maryland. The incubator will provide office space and wet labs for start-up businesses as part of Baltimore’s emerging life sciences industry. This investment is part of a $5 million project that will help create 400 jobs and generate $8 million in private investment.

$2 million to the Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association, to fund the construction of a shore-based salmon processing facility with equipment and ancillary buildings in Nelson Lagoon, Aleutians East Borough. The new processing plant allows for the harvesting of silver salmon and improves the quality of value-added seafood products harvested during different seasons throughout the year, while providing job opportunities in the region. This investment is part of a $4 million project that will help create 70 jobs and generate over $1.3 million in private investment.

$2 million to the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Anchorage, to fund the design and construction of a maritime safety training facility on the Kenai Peninsula. This investment is part of a $3.35 million project that will help create 100 jobs and generate more than $3.3 million in private investment.

$2 million to the city of Saint Paul, Alaska, to fund the dredging of the Saint Paul Harbor to accommodate the docking of larger seafood catcher-processor vessels. $1.5 million to the Craig Community Association, Craig, Alaska, to fund road improvements in Port Saint Nicholas on the west coast of the Prince of Wales Island to accommodate growth of existing businesses and attract new businesses. This investment is part of a $1.5 million project that will help retain 33 jobs, create 125 jobs and generate more than $7.9 million in private investment.

$1.344 million to the city of Atka, Alaska, to complete the construction of a small hydroelectric power generating plant, including the dam, infrastructure and distribution systems. $1.25 million to the University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College, Brownsville, Texas, to expand and renovate an abandoned mall site for reuse as a business incubator and financial center. This investment is part of a $2.825 million project that will help create 500 jobs and generate more than $10 million in private investment.

$1.25 million to the city of Raymondville, Texas, to support the development of the Raymondville Technology Park which includes construction of a training facility to house a small business incubator, a university satellite campus, a distance learning program and several community organizations. This investment is part of a $1,696,714 project that will help generate private investment in excess of $203,000.

$1.022 million to Butte-Silver Bow Consolidated Government, Butte, Montana, to assist with construction of a sewer line to facilitate development at the Port of Montana Business Development District. This investment is part of a $5 million project that will help create 143 new jobs and generate $47 million in private investment.

$1 million to the Center for Economic Development, Innovation and Commercialization, Austin, Texas, to support the establishment of the Big 12 Angels, a network of 12 selected universities providing enhanced economic development collaboration between universities and key stakeholders in the public and private sectors to overcome inherent challenges in obtaining and leveraging revolving loan funds and other venture capital investments. This investment is part of a $2 million project.

$1 million to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, Inc., Cuero, Texas, to support the renovation of a historical building and construction of a new two-story building to house a museum and library for the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum, Inc., in Cuero, Texas, a designated “Preserve America” Community under the “Preserve America” Initiative of 2000. This investment is part of a $1,428,741 project that will help create 200 new jobs and generate more than $725,000 in private investment.

$1 million for a joint investment with Burke County and Western Piedmont Community College, Morgantown, North Carolina, to support the renovation of a former manufacturing facility to house a new workforce training center which is expected to train more than 500 students annually in the healthcare industry. This investment is part of a $4,087,600 project that will help create 220 new jobs and generate more than $120 million in private investment.

$993,000 to the Arc of Hilo, Hawaii, to construct multiple infrastructure improvements to a building site necessary for development of a facility to provide educational and business opportunities to Hilo’s large population of disabled and unemployed residents. This investment is part of a $1,987,750 project that will help create 229 new jobs and generate over $865,500 in private investment.

$800,000 to the City of Jasper, Texas, to fund the construction of a new regional vocational training center in Jasper, an area affected by Hurricane Rita and still hampered by a shortage of skilled construction workers. This investment is part of a $1.303 million investment that will help create 1,000 jobs and generate more than $25 million in private investment.

$800,000 to the City of Fort Stockton, Texas, for renovation of the City’s wastewater treatment system necessary for the retention and expansion of businesses in the Fort Stockton area. This investment is part of a $1.164 million project that will help create 295 jobs and attract more than $22 million in private investment.

$600,000 to the Hispanic Institute, Washington, DC, to conduct a strategic economic analysis of labor supply in vital industry clusters and the immigrant workforce in the southwestern region of Texas. This investment is part of a $750,000 project.

$323,995 to Hidalgo County, Edinburg, Texas, to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Hidalgo County. This investment is part of a $404,995 investment.

$250,000 to the Sitka Tribe of Alaska to conduct an architectural assessment and space utilization study of the Tribe’s real property and infrastructure to determine its suitability for future development. This investment is part of a $261,545 project.

EDA announced 41 investments greater than $100,000 during the period June 18-22, 2007 totaling $39,755,536. These investments are part of projects totaling $102,504,404, saving 800 jobs, creating 7,681 new jobs and generating more than $1.109 billion in private investment.

$3,215,427 to the Maryland Broadband Cooperative, Salisbury, Maryland, to fund the installation of a fiber optic broadband network to serve high technology businesses located in the Eastern Shore counties of Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. This investment is part of a $7,071,990 project that will help create 1,000 new jobs and generate $117 million in private investment.

$2.4 million to Desert Alliance for Community Empowerment, Coachella, California, to fund construction of a retail commercial center in downtown Mecca that will serve as a business incubator for approximately 40 percent of the businesses locating there. This investment is part of a $7,370,550 project that will help save 17 jobs, create 425 jobs and generate $34 million in private investment.

$1,985,500 for a joint investment with the city of Lansing and the Michigan State University Foundation, Michigan, to support construction of improvements to roadway and utility infrastructure necessary for expansion of the University Corporate Research Park to include space for a business incubator and emerging technology-based clusters. This investment is part of a $3,971,000 project that will help create 400 jobs and generate more than $40 million in private investment.

$1.725 million for a joint investment with the Stephenson County, Silver Creek Township and the Freeport Area Economic Development Foundation, Freeport, Illinois, to support the construction of multiple improvements to the infrastructure in the Mill Race Crossing Industrial Park in Freeport. This investment is part of a $5.732 million project that will help create 300 new jobs and generate private investment in excess of $18 million.

$1.6 million for a joint investment with the Cedar Valley TechWorks, Inc. and the city of Waterloo to support renovation of a vacant facility for reuse as a technology center to meet the educational needs of the emerging bio-based technologies in Black Hawk County. This investment is part of a $6,684,013 project that will help create 192 new jobs and generate $7.6 million in private investment.

$1.55 million for a joint investment with the Bristol Virginia Utilities and Cumberland Plateau Company, Inc. to support the installation of 45 miles of advanced fiber optic broadband cable in Buchanan and Dickenson Counties. This investment is part of a $3.1 million project that will create 600 jobs and generate more than $40 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development, Pennsylvania, to support the renovation of roadways and utilities in the Philadelphia Navy Yard necessary for retention and expansion of existing businesses. This investment is part of a $6,118,295 project that will help create 675 jobs and generate $121 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to Ohio County Water District, Hartford, Kentucky, to support the construction of a new water treatment plan and upgrades the existing raw water intake system to accommodate the retention and expansion of major industry in Ohio County. This investment is part of a $9 million project saving 783 jobs, creating 127 new jobs and generating $30.6 million in private investment.

$1.5 million for a joint investment with the LeMoyne-Owen College Community Development Corporation, LeMoyne-Owen College and the New Towne Center, LLC, Memphis, Tennessee, to support the construction of a mixed-use facility in the city of Memphis. This investment is part of a $5,152,898 project that will help create 179 new jobs and generate $2.302 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the city of Norfolk, Nebraska, to fund infrastructure necessary for new food processing industry in the city of Norfolk. This investment is part of a $4.019 million project that will help create 135 jobs and generate private investment in excess of $23 million.

$1.5 million for a joint investment with the Centre County Industrial Development Corporation, Benner Township, Bellefonte Borough Authority and the Spring Benner Walker Joint Authority, Pennsylvania, to support the construction of multiple infrastructure improvements to 83 acres of the 212-acre Rockview Business Park to accommodate new industry. This investment is part of a $3.819 million project that will help create 900 jobs and generate $40 million in private investment.

$1.5 million for a joint investment with the Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and the Orangeburg-Calhoun Area Technical Education Commission, South Carolina, to support construction of the Transportation Technology Workforce Training Center. This investment is part of a $3,701,099 project that will help create 544 jobs and generate $420 million in private investment.

$1.5 million to the University of North Dakota Research Foundation, Grand Forks, North Dakota, to support construction of infrastructure necessary for development of a new technology research park. This investment is part of a $3 million project that will help create 396 new jobs and generate $30 million in private investment.

$1.460 million to the city of Wiggins, Mississippi, to fund upgrades to the city of Wiggins’ water system to accommodate new businesses moving to the area still recovering from the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. This investment is part of a $1.825 million project that will help create 350 jobs and generate $15.5 million in private investment.

$1.24 million to the South Dakota Technology Business Center (Center), Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to support construction of an addition and infrastructure improvements to the Center to accommodate new businesses. This investment is part of a $2.7 million project that will help create 136 new jobs and generate $27 million in private investment.

$1.2 million to the National World War II Museum, Inc. in New Orleans, Louisiana, supports expansion of the Museum to include the development of a state-of-the-art theater and purchase of equipment for the theater, stimulating New Orleans’ tourism industry. This investment is part of a $4.441 million project that will help create 39 jobs and generate $26 million in private investment.

$1.2 million to the Great Falls International Airport Authority, Montana, to fund renovation of a hangar at the Great Falls International Airport for lease to an aircraft maintenance firm, stimulating growth in the area’s avionics industry cluster. This investment is part of a $3,636,364 project.

$1,276,250 for a joint investment with the city of Albertville and the Albertville Municipal Utility Board, Alabama, to support construction of infrastructure improvements to the Albertville Municipal Airport to accommodate new growth. This investment is part of a $2,552,500 project (including $300,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission) that will help create 405 new jobs and generate $16.2 million in private investment.

$1.1 million to the Rosebud Economic Development Corporation, Mission, South Dakota, to fund the construction of a facility on the Rosebud Indian Reservation to house companies, working in partnership with Tribally-owned businesses, that will help develop and implement programs in the electronic integration circuitry technologies, promoting stability in the Tribe’s economy. This investment is part of a $1.948 investment that will help create 100 new jobs and generate $620,000 in private investment.

$1 million for a joint investment with Mitchell County and the Mitchell County Development Authority, Alabama, Camilla, Georgia, to fund Phase II road improvements to serve a new ethanol production facility and other industry locating in the new Mitchell County Industrial Park. This investment is part of a $2,312,084 project that will help create 19 jobs and generate $66 million in private investment.

$1 million to the All Indian Pueblos Council, Albuquerque, New Mexico, to construct infrastructure improvements in a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) in Albuquerque to serve retail and commercial businesses. The network will enhance the region’s knowledge economy and skilled workforce. This investment is part of a $2 million project.

$1 million to the town of Holly Springs, North Carolina, to fund improvements to the wastewater system to support construction of a new manufacturing facility. This investment is part of a $2,765,500 project that will help create 258 new jobs and generate more than $61.596 million in private investment.

$240,000 to the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum, Portland, Oregon, to fund the expansion of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum’s successful approach to developing businesses in the Columbia Gorge and eastern Oregon by connecting emerging companies with mentors and training venture capitalists. This investment is part of a $480,000 project.

$220,000 to the city of Gustavus, Alaska, to construct a ramp barge landing, part of a Salmon River Launch Ramp Project, which will permit diversification and growth of the regional economy by improving transportation and delivery of freight. This investment is part of a $280,000 project that will help create 11 jobs and generate $500,000 in private investments.

$204,660 for a joint investment to the Corcoran Joint Unified School District and the city of Corcoran, California, to funds the planning and design for a vocational training center in the city of Corcoran to strengthen work force development in King County. This investment is part of a $341,100 project that is expected to increase job creation and private investment in the region.

$200,000 to the Redevelopment Agency of the city of San Jose, California, to support the preliminary design and operational planning for the San Jose Electronic Transportation Development Center. This investment is part of a $400,000 project.

EDA announced seven grants greater than $100,000 during the period June 12-16, 2006 totaling $4,652,100. These investments were part of projects totaling $10,115,625 that will help create over 1,840 jobs and generate more than $318.5 million in private investments.

$2,000,000 to the city of Huntington Park, California, to fund infrastructure improvements to a brownfield site in the Los Angeles suburb of Huntington Park necessary to develop a retail center. This investment is part of a $4,035,000 project that will help create more than 1,300 jobs and generate over $200 million in private investments.

$1,800,000 to the Cal Poly Corporation, San Luis Obispo, California, to fund construction of the first building of a technology park on the California Polytechnic State University campus in San Luis Obispo. This investment is part of a $4,400,000 project that will help create 380 jobs and generate $115 million in private investments.

$180,000 to the city of Pascagoula, Mississippi, to fund a comprehensive waterfront redevelopment plan to promote economic recovery, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, for the Pascagoula region. This investment is part of a $200,000 project.

$175,000 to the San Juan Junior College District, Farmington, New Mexico, to suppprt the final stage of construction of a business incubator center on the San Juan Junior College District campus. This investment is part of a $400,000 project that will help create 160 jobs and generate $3.5 million in private investment.

$165,700 to the Georgia Tech Research Corporation, Atlanta, Georgia, to fund the EDA University Center Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Enterprise Innovation Institute to promote job creation and private investment through technology transfer and workforce training and development. This investment is part of a $390,700 project.

$165,700 to Auburn University, Alabama, to support EDA’s University Center Program at Auburn University’s Technical Assistance Center, which promotes job creation and private investment through technology transfer and workforce training and development. This investment is part of a $358,525 project.

EDA announced 12 grants greater than $100,000 during the period June 5-9, 2006 totaling $7,701,781. These investments were part of projects totaling $11,115,708 that will help create over 1,171 new jobs and generate private investments in excess of $63 million.

$1,400,000 to the University of Alaska, Anchorage, for upgrading teaching equipment necessary to expand the Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program at the University. This investment is part of a $2,800,000 project that will help create over 70 placements annually and attract more than $2.8 million in private investments.

$1,250,000 to the New Orleans BioInnovation Center, Louisiana, to fund architectural and design engineering for the New Orleans BioInnovation Center, a wet lab incubator that will stimulate and diversify the City’s recovering economy. This investment is part of a $2,100,000 project that will help create 200 jobs and generate over $20 million in private investments.

$1,209,361 to the University of Texas at San Antonio to support the continued operations of the Southwest Trade Adjustment Assistance Center at the University of Texas at San Antonio. This investment is part of a $1,337,092 project.

$900,000 to Terrebonne Parish Port Commission, Houma, Louisiana, to support the construction of a new shipyard in Terrebonne Port, including harbor development and levee improvements, to build specialty boats serving military interests and deepwater energy development industries adversely impacted by flooding from Hurricane Rita. This investment is part of a $1,125,000 project that will help create 225 new jobs and attract more than $7.5 million in private investments.

$840,000 for a joint investment to the Grant County Port District No. 1 and the city of Quincy, Washington, to upgrade the water infrastructure necessary to support the development of an intermodal industrial park at the port of Quincy. This investment is part of a $1,200,000 project that will help create 420 jobs and generate $18.7 in private investment.

$800,000 to the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, Galliano, Louisiana, to fund infrastructure improvements to the South Lafourche Leonard Miller, Jr. Airport to enhance regional competitiveness in south central Louisiana, an area severely damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This investment is part of a $1,145,000 project that will help create 256 jobs and generate private investment exceeding $14 million.

$500,000 to the Southeast Tourism Society, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia, to fund a tourism marketing campaign for the Gulf Coast states (Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi) most affected by the 2005 hurricanes to provide economic benefits and jobs for the region. This investment is part of a $625,000 project.

$180,000 for a joint investment to Harrison County and the Harrison County Development Commission, Gulfport, Mississippi, to fund the planning required for construction of an inland seafood industrial park with improved disaster-resistant standards to support regional recovery following Hurricane Katrina. This investment is part of a $200,000 project.

EDA announced six grants greater than $100,000 during the period May 29-June 2, 2006 totaling $3.5 million. These investments were part of projects totaling $6,725,000 that will help create over 500 new jobs and generate private investments in excess of $58 million.

$1,000,000 for a joint investment to the Johnstown Industrial Development Corporation, the Richland Township Supervisors, the Forest Hills Municipal Authority, and the Highland Water and Sewer Authority, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to support infrastructure improvements necessary to expand Johnstown Business Park, attracting high-technology industries to south-central Pennsylvania. This investment is part of a $4,225,000 project that will help create 500 new jobs and generate over $58 million in private sector investments.

$600,000 to the Acadiana Regional Development District, Lafayette, Louisiana, to recapitalize the Revolving Loan Fund in southwest Louisiana to assist regional development and recovery after Hurricane Katrina. The total cost of this investment is $600,000.

$600,000 to the New Orleans Regional Business Development Loan Corporation, New Orleans, Louisiana, to support recapitalization of the Revolving Loan Fund to assist firms located in parishes in southeast Louisiana that were adversely impacted by Hurricane Katrina. The total cost of this investment is $600,000.

$500,000 to the state of Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to supplement a $4 million investment awarded in fiscal year 2005 to the state of Louisiana to support recovery operations following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita by providing authority to establish a Revolving Loan Fund. The total cost of this investment is $500,000.

$500,000 to the Jefferson Parish Economic Development and Port District, Metairie, Louisiana, to support the recapitalization of the Jefferson Parish Revolving Loan Fund to assist regional redevelopment and recovery after Hurricane Katrina. The total cost of this investment is $500,000.

$300,000 to the South Central Planning and Development Commission, Inc., Houma, Louisiana, to support the recapitalization of the Revolving Loan Fund for the six Louisiana parishes served by the South Central Planning and Development Commission to encourage regional redevelopment and recovery after Hurricane Katrina. The total cost of this investment is $300,000.

$2,000,000 to Rutgers State University, New Jersey, to construct a food business incubator providing state-of-the-art business and technical expertise to promote the region’s food and agri-business. This investment is part of a $4,900,000 project that will help create 1,000 jobs and generate over $30 million in private sector investments.

$1,750,000 to the City of Worcester, Massachusetts, to fund multiple infrastructure improvements necessary for the development of CitySquare, Worcester’s downtown revitalization project. This investment is part of a $3,500,000 project that will help create 540 new jobs and generate private investments in excess of $202 million.

$1,000,000 to County of Franklin, Rocky Mount, Virginia, to construct the Franklin County workforce Development Center for the training of a competitive workforce and the transformation of the region’s economy. This investment is part of a $5,600,000 project that will help create 1,760 jobs and attract more than $163 million in private investments.

$1,000,000 to the Pueblo of Ohkay Owingeh, San Juan Pueblo, New Mexico, to construct infrastructure improvements necessary to establish a new industrial cluster on San Juan Pueblo, which supports the nearby airport and diversifies the regional economy. This investment is part of a $2,400,000 project.

$375,000 to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, to fund renovation of the 1917 James E. Guinn School, a historic preservation site located in Fort Worth, to add training space for small business development programs. This investment is part of a $2,050,000 project that will help create 100 jobs and attract $1.9 million in private investment.
