May 17, 2004 - Dr. David A. Sampson, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, announced the winners of the Economic Development Administration's Excellence in Economic Development Awards 2004.

Dr. Sampson presented the Awards on June 9, 2004 during the Awards Ceremony as part of the EDA's National Conference in Washington, D.C.
