Simon C. Gros
Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs

Simon C. GrosSimon C. Gros is the Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation. In this role, he serves as the Secretary’s liaison to Members of Congress and state and local officials, and is her chief adviser on all legislative matters.

From 2006 to 2007, Mr. Gros was the Department’s Deputy Chief of Staff, and from 2004 to 2006, he served as Associate Director for Governmental Affairs and then Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs.

Before coming to the Department of Transportation, Mr. Gros was the Director of Government Affairs for Van Scoyoc Associates. He also worked as a Legislative Associate for Kessler Century Government Relations, and was a legislative aide to Congressman Frank LoBiondo from New Jersey.

Mr. Gros holds a Juris Doctor and a Juris Master from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland.

He resides in Washington, DC with his wife, Natalie.
