Two rounds of rain affected Southern Wisconsin this past weekend.

Rain (round #1) spread into southern Wisconsin Friday night and persisted into Saturday afternoon.  Several locations received heavy rainfall during Friday evening, including portions of southern Milwaukee and northern Racine counties where around an inch occurred in several hours time. Rainfall from overnight Friday into Saturday was generally in the 1 to 2.50 inch range across far southern Wisconsin, from Madison to Milwaukee and south to the Illinois border.  Farther north, rainfall was lighter, generally from 0.30 to 0.75 inch. 

Friday and Saturday's precipitation over Southern Wisconsin was not related to Hurricane Ike, which made landfall overnight Friday in eastern Texas.  Instead, this round of rain for Southern Wisconsin was related to a couple of low pressure systems riding northeast along a stalled frontal boundary.

The remnants of Hurricane Ike spread (round #2) into southern Wisconsin Saturday night and continued into Sunday night.  Additional rainfall amounts ranged from less than 1/10 inch northwest of Madison to 1/2 to 3/4 inch over the southeast corner.
