The
Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument
Draft Management Plan (DMMP) and associated Environmental Assessment (EA) were released Earth Day, April 22, 2008 and the period for public
comment bgan the following day.
The four-volume, 1,200 page DMMP and EA are available for a 90-day public review and comment
period. Initially, the comment period was for 75 days but a 15 day extension has been added. The public comment period is now April 23, 2008 through July 23, 2008. Information on how to submit public comment is listed below. Click here to view the press release on the comment period extension.

Copies are also available for review at any State of Hawai‘i public library, and a very limited number of copies are available on compact disk or in hard copy by calling the Fish and Wildlife Service in Honolulu at 808.792.9530

Public Meetings
Nine public meetings were held across Hawai'i, as well as one meeting at the Main Interior Building in Washington, D.C.. At each meeting, the public was given an overview of the plan, and time to provide official comments. If you would like more information about the meeting schedule, please click here.
