LIDAR Data Handler: A NOAA Coastal Services Center ArcView^® or ArcMap^® Extension

The LIDAR Data Handler is an extension to ArcView or ArcMap designed to help the coastal resource management community manipulate its Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) data within a Geographic Information System (GIS). Beacuse the tools in the handler were developed to work with the Arc/Info Grid format, users must have the Spatial Analyst to run this extension. To use the Data Handler, download data from the LIDAR Data Retrieval Tool (LDART), use the sample data files below, or use your own data. The sample files are in the binary raster file format, which is described in the metadata for each file.

The extension and the data files have been compressed to allow for faster download times. They can be uncompressed with PKZIP^® or InfoZip (free).
