Conservation and Restoration


The key to conserving the coastal ecosystem lies with the collaborative and strategic efforts of all levels of government. Each year the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Coastal Services Center works with these entities to initiate and implement planning efforts for coastal conservation and habitat restoration.

Tools and Services

The Center provides a variety of tools and services to support coastal conservation and habitat restoration.

Technology and Data. The Center works with partners to build capacity in spatial technology and effective tools used in strategic conservation and restoration planning. The Center also produces a variety of data that can support these efforts.

Partnership Building. The Center is dedicated to building effective partnerships and fostering new networks in the conservation and restoration community.

Training. The Center offers training courses to help coastal resource managers build new skills. The conservation and restoration community can also learn about relevant projects, techniques, and research through a variety of informational Web sites.
