Consular Agency Nice

Consular services in Nice are available by appointment only for persons residing or traveling in the following areas: Principality of Monaco, Alpes de Hautes-Provence 04, Hautes-Alpes 05, Alpes Maritimes 06. Please contact the Consular Agency at telephone 04 93 88 89 55 to schedule an appointment for all services including Federal Benefits. The Consular Agency is closed on all American and French holidays.

American Citizen Services

The Consular Agency in Nice provides limited passport and citizenship services for American citizens and accepts birth registrations for U.S. citizen children born abroad. A full range of passport and citizenship services are available at the U.S. Consulate General in Marseille.

Passport and Citizenship Services in Nice
The Consular Agency in Nice accepts all passport and citizenship applications requiring a personal appearance by appointment only. Applications for these services will be transmitted to the Consulate General in Marseille for processing.

The Consular Agency in Nice also accepts applications for regular passport renewals for persons holding a 10-year validity passport issued within the last 15 years. Renewal applications are accepted at the Consular Agency in Nice with payment during opening hours, without an appointment, Monday-Friday 9:00-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. These applications will be transmitted to the Consulate General in Marseille. Payment for Passport Applications in Nice
Payment for U.S. passport applications must be either in euros in cash or, in dollars by credit card. U.S. dollars (cash) or other currencies are not accepted. (See exchange rate for euro equivalent of U.S. dollar fees.)

Notarial and Authentication Services

Notarial and authentication services are available by appointment only. Please contact the Consular Agency at telephone 04 93 88 89 55 to schedule an appointment. Payment for notarial services must be either in euros in cash or, in dollars by credit card. U.S. dollars (cash) or other currencies are not accepted. (See exchange rate for euro equivalent of U.S. dollar fees.)

At the time of your notarial appointment please bring:
  A valid passport or form of identity issued by a government   agency — a U.S. driver's license or passport; for non-U.S. citizens a passport is required. (For identification purposes, we do not accept student ID or a French drivers' licenses.) 
  the document to be notarized; 
  the euro equivalent of $30 per initial signature/seal; each additional signature/seal provided at the same time in connection with the same transaction will cost the euro equivalent of $20.
   If your document requires the presence of a witness, please bring these persons at the time of signature. Consular officers and staff may NOT be witnesses for notarial purposes.

The Consular Agency in Nice also provides information on Federal Benefits (social security numbers and benefits) for those residing in South East France. U.S. Visa Services

The Consular Agency in Nice does NOT provide U.S. visa services. The U.S. Embassy in Paris is the only office providing visa services in France. Please refer to the Paris website page http://france.usembassy.gov/visas.html for visa information.
