Ginnie Mae Unclaimed Funds Initiative
Ginnie Mae is currently conducting an unclaimed funds initiative with our business partners (issuers). If you have recently received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service, on behalf of Ginnie Mae, you may have unclaimed funds due to you. These unclaimed funds are most likely principal and insurance payments on mortgage-backed securities for which you were the security holder and/or beneficiary. Ginnie Mae encourages you to contact the issuer noted in the letter you received. You are under no obligation to contact either the issuer or Ginnie Mae; however, we encourage you to do so to resolve any outstanding remittances on Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed security holdings that may be due you.
