2001 Legislation in Oregon was key: systematic reviews
Gradually grew into what we now call DERP, which includes 15 states (use for Medicaid drug selection) and 2 private members
Systematic reviews are done by AHRQ funded EPC's, including the EPC at OHSU, RAND, and UNC
We add price information
We have a process of intensive review, including medical peer review by outside experts
