Office of International Programs (OIP)
The Department of Commerce's Office of International Programs
(OIP) works to strengthen foreign national export control systems
to facilitate legitimate trade in high-technology goods, and to keep nuclear,
biological, and chemical weapons out of the hands of terrorists and rogue
states.
This site has two sections:
- The Office of International Programs
(OIP) section, which describes the mission, goals, and activities
of the BIS international technical exchange programs. In conjunction with
the interagency community, particularly the Export Control and Related Border
Security Assistance (EXBS) Program administered by the U.S. Department of
State, the OIP Program works with both the public and private sectors to
strengthen export control systems in many countries around the world and
- The Technical Information Center (TIC) section,
where BIS/OIP can create a direct interface between export control officials
in the United States and elsewhere to exchange technical information on
export controls.
