ODU Board of Visitors Elects Ross Mugler Rector

Old Dominion University's Board of Visitors on Sept. 19 elected Ross Mugler, commissioner of the revenue for the city of Hampton, as rector for 2008-10. He succeeds Marc Jacobson. Also elected were retired Navy Adm. Harold W. Gehman Jr. as vice rector and Linda Forehand as secretary.

"The Call of Stories," ODU's 31st Annual Literary Festival Begins Sept. 23

Old Dominion University's 31st Annual Literary Festival, sponsored by the College of Arts and Letters, will feature world-class storytellers, including novelists, poets, essayists and musicians, from Tuesday, Sept. 23, to Friday, Sept. 26.

Modeling and Simulation Representatives from ODU to Speak at Cambridge

Michael McGinnis, the executive director of Old Dominion University's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC), will lead a seminar at Cambridge University's Institute for Manufacturing in the England next month together with Eric Weisel, an ODU modeling and simulation (M&S) doctoral program graduate who now owns an M&S business in eastern Virginia.
