ODU Board of Visitors Elects Ross Mugler Rector

Old Dominion University's Board of Visitors on Sept. 19 elected Ross Mugler, commissioner of the revenue for the city of Hampton, as rector for 2008-10. He succeeds Marc Jacobson. Also elected were retired Navy Adm. Harold W. Gehman Jr. as vice rector and Linda Forehand as secretary.

"Humanities Encounter: Incarceration and Interrupted Life," is a three-week-long symposium, beginning Sept. 20, designed to reach across economic and educational barriers to offer meaningful connections to the issues of incarceration in the United States.

Modeling and Simulation Representatives from ODU to Speak at Cambridge

Michael McGinnis, the executive director of Old Dominion University's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC), will lead a seminar at Cambridge University's Institute for Manufacturing in the England next month together with Eric Weisel, an ODU modeling and simulation (M&S) doctoral program graduate who now owns an M&S business in eastern Virginia.
