Ex-Im Bank Success Stories in Turkey

In August 2004 Ex-Im Bank authorized a loan guarantee in the amount of $39 million to support GE Energy's sale of aeroderivative gas turbine-generators to Habas Sinai ve Tibbi Gazlar Istihsal EndU.S.trisi A.S. of Istanbul, Turkey. Ex-Im Bank and Coface of France co-financed this transaction. The loan will have a grace period equal to the construction period of the project and a repayment period of 10 years. Societe General, New York is funding the whole transaction under U.S. Ex-Im's guarantee.

In April of 2004 Hurriyet Gaztecilik Ve Matbaacilik , A.S. secured financing in the amount of $7,267,118 from Bank of New York to purchase printing new printing press and spare parts from Tensor Group Inc., located in Woodbridge, Illinois. Tensor Group's use of Ex-Im Bank's working capital and loan guarantee programs have helped them to do business in more than 25 countries worldwide.

In January of 2004 Dizayn Teknik Plastik Boru ve Elemenyari Sanayi ve Ticaret secured financing in the amount of $4,027,388 to purchase plastic pipe manufacturing from Motan Inc. , located in Plainwell Michigan. International Risk Consultants brokered this deal. M&T Bank of Baltimore, Maryland funded the whole transaction, under a joint guarantee from Ex-Im Bank and the Export Development Corporation of Canada (EDC).
