The Standard Occupational Classification Manual

The SOC manual presents the occupational structure showing the different levels of aggregation (Major Group, Minor Group, Broad Occupation, Detailed Occupation) as well as the occupational titles and definitions. Illustrative examples of job titles that may be found in an occupation are also listed. The manual also lists the principles of classification, and provides a description of the SOC revision process and a section of Frequently Asked Questions.
