Instructions for Ordering Copies of Images from the U.S. Coast Guard Historian's Office Photograph Collection


Due to limited staffing, the USCG Historian's Office cannot provide electronic 
files of images from the collection upon request. If you would like to obtain 
images you must follow the procedure below.

(1) The customer will contact the Coast Guard Historian’s Office requesting 
images for reproduction.

ORDERS WITHOUT AN ADDRESS CANNOT BE FILLED.

**Please do not make multiple submissions for the same order.**

 

(2) The Coast Guard Historian's Office will then make photocopies of the requested images from the collection, provide order numbers for those images, and send them to the customer.


(3) After receiving the numbered photocopies of the images , the customer should contact the vendor listed below in order to arrange for duplication of the desired images. Be sure to provide the image numbers located on the photocopies to the vendor. This will ensure that the proper images are pulled and duplicated. 

(4) Details of fees, shipping costs, and schedule of delivery are to be determined 
by the customer and the vendor. The Coast Guard Historian's Office has no role 
in this process. 

(5) The vendor will then contact the Coast Guard Historian's Office with the 
image numbers and arrange for pickup at the Coast Guard Historian's Office. 
Photos will be picked-up by the vendor on Wednesdays only. There will be no 
exceptions. Please bear this in mind if you are under any time constraints. 

(6) When the duplication order is completed, the vendor will ship the 
duplicated images to the customer according to the agreed method and schedule. 

The goal of the USCG Historian’s Office is to provide accessibility to customers 
and vendors in order to allow for the duplication of images in the collection. 
All inquiries regarding the duplication of images or the status of your order 
should be directed to the vendor, not to the Coast Guard Historian’s Office.

Images from the U.S. Coast Guard Historian's Office lie in the public domain and 
may be used without permission or restriction. If used in publications, however, 
the U.S. Coast Guard Historian's Office should be cited as the source of the 
respective images.
