The U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission recently signed an agreement with Custom Pin & Design of Sanibel, Fla., making the company an official licensee. Under the terms of the agreement, Custom Pin & Design will have the right to use the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission logo in connection with the design, manufacture, advertisement, promotion and sale of lapel pins, key chains and patches created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first powered flight.
Custom Pin & Design was founded in 1980
and is now one of the top pin manufacturing companies
in the country. The company will market its Centennial
of Flight merchandise to aviation-related organizations,
events, museums, airport gift shops and retail outlets.
The products will also be available online. "We are pleased to be working with Custom
Pin & Design," Sherry Foster, executive director
of the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission, said.
"The pins, key chains and patches are beautiful
collectables, and will provide additional exposure
for the yearlong commemoration." Custom Pin & Design produced the pins
for the Constitution Bicentennial Commission in
1987, and its current client list includes Inventing
Flight: Dayton 2003, a U.S. Centennial of Flight

Congress and federal agencies on the most effective
ways to encourage and promote national and international
participation in the Centennial of Flight commemoration.
