Postdoctoral candidate

The Environmental Science Division of the Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a post-doctoral candidate with a PhD in the atmospheric sciences with proven experience and interest in regional-scale modeling as well as remote sensing. The candidate will be expected to develop novel approaches for using data collected by the DOE Atmospheric Radiation Measurements (ARM) program and the second ARM mobile facility in particular in modeling climate effects. The AMF2 data collection is aimed at developing data sets for climate model evaluation from a variety of locations world-wide, including over oceans and the poles. Candidates having a modeling background, particularly using climate models on regional and global scales, with some exposure to instrumentation and analysis of field campaign data sets are particularly desired; candidates with primary interests in developing retrieval algorithms for ground based remote sensing instrumentation, developing and deploying remote sensing instruments for atmospheric, cloud and radiative transfer measurements will also be considered. Prospective candidates should submit resumes to Nancy Akiyoshi ( akiyoshi@anl.gov ).
