The County job application form must be completed or your application will be invalidated. This means all required fields on the form must be completed. Emailing a resume is not considered an application for employment. You must complete and submit an official County job application form --  one of the following;  the on-line version, the files provided on this site, or an official hard copy application.

 

Please read the following instructions before completing an application for employment!

Applications are accepted only for posted positions.  APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT A SEPARATE APPLICATION FOR EACH POSITION. Copies of applications, with an original signature, will be accepted. The new "Apply On-line" process will be accepted and emailing an official County application form will be accepted, but a signature will be required if you are selected for an interview. If you fax your job application, please sign the form.

Applicants must submit a Bernalillo County application Form. Resumes support an application only and will not be processed without a completed Bernalillo County application.

Please try the new online application system. Instructions for the new system are provided throughout the process, along with an on-screen HELP option.

Hard copy job application forms must be typed or written in black ink. Be as accurate and legible as possible. You may download, complete the Word document and email the form to County Human Resources. However, if the County application form is altered your job application will be void.

Emailing your application: To submit your job application by email, download the form from the "download applications" tab on the front page of the County web site. Follow the instructions on that page for saving the file to your computer. When your form is complete and ready to send in, YOU MUST rename the file.  The following example shows first name_last name_application date.  Please use the format example:   jane_doe_09_09_04.doc (name and date of submission with underscores in between). Attach your file and submit to: apply@bernco.gov

Applicants must provide all relevant information regarding education and work experience, places and dates of employment (month/year), positions held, duties and responsibilities, training or academic study and credit hours. Credit for volunteer work will be given if included as part of the employment history section of the application.

Applicants applying for positions that require typing must take a typing test and submit the passing results at the time the application is submitted. Contact the NM Department of Labor (DOL) at 841-9300 or the Rio Rancho office at 891-1911 for dates and locations of tests. Typing tests are valid for one year.

Copies of transcripts, licenses, and certificates must be submitted with the application when designated as a minimum qualification. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE TYPING TESTS.
