Brief Description: The CERT program in Layton City is taught by paid instructors from our fire department. Classes cost $10 per person for Layton residents and are usually offered 3 to 4 times per year. Our goal is to have CERT trained people in every neighborhood to assist their families and neighbors during emergencies in the event professional emergency responders cannot respond in a timely manner. The City is organized into Districts, Areas and Neighborhoods. During an emergency, the City would coordinate with District Coordinators to determine citizen needs and the availability of CERT trained citizens.

Brief Description: The CERT Program in Orem is continuing to grow and expand. We sponsor at least 6 classes per year and 4 City wide refresher trainings. At the end of each class we conduct a disaster simulation exercise for the students to practice what they have learned. We have 21 geographic areas in Orem that each have a CERT team that train together as a team. Orem has 24 CERT instructors that have completed the State Train the Trainer course. They volunteer to teach the classes and help with the refresher training. Besides training for a disaster, CERT members volunteer to help at Summerfest and Timpanogos Story Telling festival as well as various preparedness fairs and activities throughout the city.

Brief Description: The Unified Fire Authority (UFA) serves 330,000 citizens throughout Salt Lake County from 20 area wide fire stations. Our office is located at the Salt Lake County Emergency Operations Center. The department provides emergency preparedness and CERT training. Brief Description: The Willard City CERT Organization was first established in 1994. After several years of off and on again activity, we are working hard to revitalized the program within the community. Our purpose is to provide high quality CERT Training courses for all citizens of Willard City, the town of South Willard and other surrounding communities. We plan to provide 3 basic training courses annually. In partnership with our Fire and Police Departments we offer CPR and First Aid training classes. We have also provided a crowd and traffic control class and a Radio Communitions class for interested Cert members. Our goal is to provide well trained, confiedient volunteer CERT teams that can effectively and efficiently aid and assist our professional responders whenever and wherever we are needed. In both emergency and non-emergency situations. Our jurisdiction consists of 4 areas. We are in the process of developing a community wide database,wherein we can quickly identify and poole manpower, equipment, supplies, skills and other resources withiin each of the areas. Also, a phone tree/radio/runner communications system and area cashe/storage bays are in the final development stages. We are excited about our program and invite and encourage all area residents to attend the training courses and to get involved in our community.

Brief Description: 3 Steps helps neighborhoods to organize into small geographical groups of about 10 families each, which then help each other to obtain emergency supplies and to select a staging area in advance of a disaster. Neighborhoods are then encouraged and helped to have large numbers of people obtain CERT training and other emergency training such as Red Cross training. 3 steps then helps to set up a grassroots communications system which connects the grassroots with the Red Cross and city emergency management.

Brief Description: The Wayne County CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact our area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Brief Description: The West Valley CERT Association is non-profit organization established for the purpose of training and organizing CERT volunteers in West Valley City. Brief Description: For the past six years, Tooele County Emergency Management has partnered with the Tooele County School District to set up CERTs in every school in the district, with approximately 240 trained and equipped members. Brief Description: We have been training our community since CERT was adopted by Payson in 1994 and have tried to make it a more complete education within the parameters of CERT duties. We even taught a terrorism awareness module before it became officially part of the training program. Payson CERT has worked with the community, schools and churches to offer perparedness information and make the program an asset in our community. Payson CERT has been utilyzed in sandbagging during flooding, traffic direction, running emergency communications, sheltering with the Red Cross, running a feeding operation for fire crews during a forest fire, guarding critical city facilities pre-Y2K and assiting the Red Cross in the post 9/11 recovery efforts in New York City and New Jersey. We continue to run our program with unpaid volunteer instructors so the classes can be offered to our community without charge.

Brief Description: Pleasant Grove CERT has been functioning for ten years.
