 Download PDF Download  BMCM George M. Williamson Master Chief Boatswains Mate George M. Williamson was selected by Rear Admiral Fred M. Rosa, Jr. to serve as the Reserve Command Master Chief of the Fifth Coast Guard District in July 2007. 

A native of Norristown, Pennsylvania, Master Chief Williamson entered the U. S. Coast Guard on Active Duty in October of 1983 and became a member of the Reserves in January of 1988.

 Master Chief Williamson’s prior assignments, both Active and Reserve, include ANT Cape May, USCG Station Atlantic City, USCG Station Beach Haven, and the USCGC RED OAK.  He most recently served aboard the Coast Guard Cutters IBIS, FINBACK, and MAKO all home ported in Cape May, NJ. 

In civilian life, Master Chief Williamson is a Patrol Sergeant for the West Norriton Township Police Department, Montgomery County, PA.  In addition, he is the team leader for hostage negotiations for the Central Montgomery County Special Weapons and Tactics.  He has also worked for over twenty years in the maritime industry as a Captain of excursion and fishing vessels and conducts marine salvage and commercial assistance towing.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Joseph’s University.

Master Chief Williamson’s military awards include a Coast Guard Achievement Medal, two Commandant’s Letter of Commendation with “O” device, six Reserve Good Conduct Medals, and numerous service and unit awards.  He holds a Permanent Cutterman’s Pin and Boat Coxswain’s Pin.   He is a graduate of the Chief Petty Officers’ Academy, Reserve Class XIV, and a “Spirit of the Chief” recipient.
