April 25, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- President Clinton has declared a federal day of mourning on Wednesday, April 27, 1994, in memory of former President Richard M. Nixon. April 21, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has upheld the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) position that an agency should be free to take warranted action based on an employee's sexual misconduct either under its own regulation or, if appropriate, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and implementing EEOC guidelines. April 21, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- Building on the National Performance Review's call for improved customer service, U.S. Office of Personnel Management Director Jim King today announced that OPM has developed a series of four customer service training courses that will help federal agencies write customer service contracts with the American people. April 19, 1994: Washington, D.C.-Federal employees worried about retiring with a buyout because they do not meet the five-year enrollment requirement of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) may want to reconsider. OPM is waiving those rules. [News Release]

April 11, 1994: Washington, D.C.-- Selected members of the career Senior Executive Service have been honored as recipients of the 1993 Presidential Rank Awards. These awards are presented annually to top federal managers for extended, exceptional performance in the federal government. [News Release]

April 8, 1994: Washington, D.C. -- In response to the National Performance Review, a consortium of federal agencies led by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the Department of Defense, is developing the paperless personnel office. OPM Director Jim King and DOD Under Secretary for Personnel and Readiness Edwin Dorn will cut the ribbon on the model office. [News Release]
