According to the UNAIDS/WHO AIDS Epidemic Update: December 2006, 39.5 million people were living with HIV worldwide and 4.3 million people were newly infected in 2006. There were 2.9 million deaths as a result of HIV in 2006 alone.

conferences, Web broadcasts, a video library, and a list of minority initiatives.
