human services information resources provided by U.S. government
agencies and other organizations serving the public interest.
- Resources
listed in healthfinder.gov
are
intended to provide basic information on topics. More detailed
information is available from the primary information sources that
healthfinder.gov lists.
- Resources listed
must be able to respond to information requests, whether via Internet
or traditional information and referral service, from across the
Nation.
Resources for
healthfinder.gov
are selected primarily from:
- U.S. government
agencies.
- National
voluntary, nonprofit, and professional organizations serving the
public interest.
- Universities,
other educational institutions, and libraries.
- State and local
government agencies offering information services beyond their
geographic boundaries.
- Organizations
partnering with government agencies to provide information to the
public.
A
limited number of commercially based resources are included in healthfinder.gov:
- Online journals.
- News web sites.
- Free information
services not available from any government entity.
