To Apply
Applying for a certificate program is easy. There is no admission or selection process for our certificate programs; all of our participants are invited to apply. You may apply
online or by fax or mail.
Graduation
The Graduate School holds an annual graduation ceremony in Washington, DC to recognize our participant’s accomplishments at the completion of their certificate requirements. When you enroll for your last certificate program course, notify our certificate counselor at
certificates@grad.usda.gov to ensure receipt of your certificate and to be notified of the graduation ceremony in the event you wish to attend. You may enroll for the graduation ceremony
online or by mail or fax as well.
Requirements
- Each program has a separate list of requirements; please refer to individual program information.
- To count toward a certificate, all certificate requirements must be met; courses taken for credit must be completed with a grade of “C” or above.
Other courses or work experience (e.g., Graduate School courses not included in the certificate program, courses completed with another training vendor or taken at a college or university, and some related work experience) may be applied for credit toward a certificate if approved by the respective Certificate Counselor. If you wish to have a particular course or work experience evaluated for credit, provide a written description of the course or the job responsibilities for consideration by the Curriculum Director. The percentage of credits that must be taken at the Graduate School varies from program to program. If you have a question about your certificate program or about receiving credit for other courses/work experience, please contact the certificate counselor at
certificates@grad.usda.gov or call (202) 314-3320.
Note that for all certificates requiring six or fewer courses for completion, all courses must be completed at the Graduate School.
