The Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit requires every person with Medicare to make a decision. As a trusted source, financial professionals may be asked by people with Medicare for information about the new drug coverage. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is looking to financial professionals to take advantage of this "teachable moment" and help people with Medicare. Helping can be as simple as referring them to beneficiary educational resources such as 1-800-Medicare (1-800-633-4227 or TTY: 1-877-486-2048) and www.medicare.gov.
