International Foodsource Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in Sun Dried Apricots

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- February 6, 2008 -- International Foodsource, LLC of Dover, NJ is recalling Sun Dried Apricots because they contain undeclared sulfites. People who have a severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume these products.

The particular lot in question was limitedly distributed in TX, IA, PA, NJ & NY.

It is pack in clear, 12oz. Cello Bags, with the "Best By" date on the back of 9/09/08.

No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated by IFS after it was discovered that the contracted printing concern neglected to indicate the Sulfur Dioxide content.

The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites.

Consumers who have purchased this item are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-973-361-7044.
