The Vendor Must:

Provide room air conditioners that earn the ENERGY STAR and meet the ENERGY STAR criteria for energy efficiency as outlined below. The vendor is encouraged to visit energystar.gov for complete product specifications and an updated list of qualifying products.

Current Criteria-Effective July 1, 2004
Room air cleaner minimum performance requirement* >= 2.0 CADR/Watt (Dust)
Standby Power Requirement** <= 2 Watt(s)
UL Safety Requirements Models that emit ozone as a byproduct of air cleaning must meet UL Standard 867 (ozone production must not exceed 50 ppb)

CADR: Clean Air Delivery Rate

*Note: CADR for Dust must be used when determining the energy efficiency (CADR/Watt) of the room air cleaner. Qualifying air cleaner models must produce a minimum 50 CADR for Dust.

**Note: Qualifying models that perform secondary consumer functions (e.g. clock, remote control) must meet the standby power requirement.
