3. Project description (100 words or less)

A little over 2 acres of estuarine marsh was/is being restored by this action. Initial project removed over two acres of mostly concrete upland fill and the follow on project will fine tune the site so that there is proper elevations for tidal flushing and marsh grass replanting. The first phase of the restoration was done without the necessity of permits because all restoration work was done about the MHWL. The current restoration work will require minor dredging for a channel to aid the flushing and this will require environmental permits from the Corps of Engineers and possibly from state and local regulators.

4. Goals/Benefits (quantify where possible using measures of success list) Was a cost-benefit study conducted for this project? yes/no If yes, provide a summary of findings.

Over 2 acres of uplands will be restored to an estuarine Spartina marsh. Spartina grass plugs will be removed from the adjacent marsh and planted into the restored area.
