Legislative Atlas for the Southeast         Map It!

In the Southeast, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Coastal Services Center developed the first regional, GIS-based planning tool for ocean planning and governance.  This tool was developed to address five top issues in the region identified by ocean and coastal management agencies from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida: critical habitat protection, conflict areas/economic valuation, beach renourishment, sustainable fisheries, mitigation and hazards.

The system provides easy access to comprehensive ocean-related data and information for the coasts and coastal ocean areas of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Providing such information accurately and efficiently enables coastal managers and private citizens to make informed decisions regarding the management of the nation's ocean resources.
