Prohibited Species Donation

Prohibited Species Donation permits authorize tax-exempt organizations to distribute salmon and/or halibut (delivered by catcher vessels using trawl gear to shoreside processors) to hunger relief agencies, food bank networks, or food bank distributors.

An applicant seeking to become an authorized distributor must provide the Regional Administrator with information requested at 50 CFR 679.26(b)(1). After review of qualified applicants, the Regional Administrator will announce the selection of authorized distributor(s) in the Federal Register and will issue PSD permit(s).

These permits are authorized at 50 CFR 679.26 and are approved under the Paperwork Reduction Act, OMB No. 0648-0316, with an expiration date of 8/31/2011.
