Freedom Bank, Huntingburg, Indiana, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation. The items are reportedly associated with a secret shopping scam. Authentic cashier's checks have ornate borders on all sides. The bank's name and address appear in the top-center area. The security feature statement "THIS DOCUMENT HAS A MICRO- PRINT SIGNATURE LINE, WATERMARK AND A THERMOCHROMIC ICON; ABSENCE OF THESE FEATURES WILL INDICATE A COPY" is centered below the written dollar amount line. A padlock icon and security feature statements are shown to the right of "DOLLARS" on the written dollar amount line.
