Tingley Beach Regulations

No Smoking

No Alcoholic Beverages

The Noise Ordinance

 

The following activities and items are prohibited:

  • No grills or any kind - gas, wood or charcoal - are allowed.
  • No wading or swimming in the ponds.
  • No rafts or boats allowed.
  • No fireworks.
  • No glass containers, weapons, inflatable jumpers, dunk tanks, hot air balloons or remote control airplanes.

Tingley Beach is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. It cannot be reserved.

The Model Boat pond at the north end of Tingley Beach is reserved for low-speed electric and wind-powered model boating only. Boats powered by fast-electric motors and internal combusion engines are not allowed. Model Boat Pond Rules and Etiquette.

Outside catering and vendors serving or selling food or souvenirs to the public is prohibited. Food, drink and souvenirs are available in the Tingley Train Station.

Do not discard fishing line on the banks or in the water-- it is hazardous to waterfowl and other wildlife. Please dispose of fishing line in waste receptacles.

Dogs must be leashed and their waste picked up.

Park in marked areas without blocking access to other vehicles.

The wildlife at Tingley Beach includes a variety of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Don't harrass or capture them.

Don’t drive stakes or similar items into the ground. Shades, such as umbrellas or pop-up shelters may be used as long as they do not require stakes.

 

Model Boat Pond Rules and Etiquette top

Welcome to the Tingley Beach Model Boat Pond. Please take a moment to read this to ensure you and other boat modelers enjoy your time here. The Model Boat Pond is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be reserved.

Rules

  • Wind or low-speed electric/battery powered craft only.
  • Electric boats with the capacity to travel faster than 15mph are not allowed. Gas and nitro-fueled boats are not allowed.
  • No swimming, smoking, open fires or alcohol.
  • Please help keep the area clean by putting your trash in a trash can.

Remote Control Information and Etiquette

  • There is no frequency control at Tingley Beach.  Modelers are responsible for policing themselves. 
  • Surface Frequencies are 75mhz; channels are 61 through 90.
  • If you are running a surface model, you should not be on 72mhz.

 

  • Toys use 27 mhz frequency and channels 1 through 6 and are designated by color.
  • 1 - brown
  • 2 - red
  • 3 - orange
  • 4 - yellow
  • 5 - green
  • 6 - blue

  • Make sure your channel flag is hooked to your transmitter antenna.
  • Always make sure a channel is free BEFORE you turn on your transmitter.
  • Share the channels.  Check occasionally to see if someone is waiting for the channel you are using. 
  • Share knowledge.  If you know of a hazard warn your fellow modelers.
  • In an organized event, frequency boards and flags may be used, but it is the responsibility of the user to supply and maintain the board.
