Ex-Im Bank's Office Of Inspector General Launches Website To Aid In Fight Against Fraud, Waste And Abuse

EX-IM BANK'S OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL
LAUNCHES WEBSITE TO AID IN FIGHT
AGAINST FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Office of Inspector General at the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) has launched its website, providing web users throughout the world with 24/7 access to information about the office and new ways to contact the Inspector General to report fraud, waste or abuse in Ex-Im Bank programs or operations.

The OIG's web site is located at www.exim.gov/oig/.

The Office of Inspector General was organized in late 2007, with Ex-Im Bank's first Inspector General,  Michael W. Tankersley, being sworn in on August 6, 2007. 

 The Ex-Im Bank Office of Inspector General:
 

  • Promotes economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the management of Ex-Im Bank programs and supporting operations;
  • Conducts and supervises audits, investigations and reviews relating to the Bank's export credit insurance, guaranty and loan programs and supporting operations; and
  • Seeks to detect and prevent fraud, waste and abuse.

The Inspector General receives and investigates complaints and information concerning violations of law, rules, or regulations, fraud against Ex-Im Bank, mismanagement, waste of funds, abuse of authority or dangers to the public health and safety connected with the Bank's programs and operations.
