Vocational Rehabilitation Services
- Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is for people with disabilities who need our services to prepare for work, or to find and keep a job.
What does it mean to be an "individual with a disability"?
Who is eligible for these services?
- You may be eligible for VR if you have a physical or mental disability which makes it difficult for you to find or keep a job, and if you require VR services to prepare for, secure, retain, or regain employment.
How do I apply for VR services?
- To obtain information on applying, contact the Minnesota Workforce Center nearest you.
What happens if I qualify for VR services?
- Your counselor will help you develop your plan for employment.
What services can I receive from VR?
- VR provides basic and customized services that an eligible individual may need to achieve his or her employment outcome. These may include college or vocational training, job placement services, and services to assist students to go from school to work.
- VR policies
- There is no cost for services provided by VR staff, but you may be asked to share in the cost of some purchased services, depending on your family income.
Do individuals have appeal rights with Vocational Rehabilitation?
- If a person is unhappy with a decision made by a VR employee they may ask for a review of that decision.
- The Client Assistance Project is available to assist individuals in their relationships with VR, and may be able to help resolve issues should they occur.
