Council Description
The Judson University Citizens Corps Council (JUCCC) is composed of representatives from all departments of the college community including instruction, administration and services. The focus of this group is to provide leadership in the promotion of the Citizens Corps goals to make our community safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to any emergency situation. Council members play a key role in the development and implementation of the college's emergency operations plan and model emergency preparedness through their participation in Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training and actively participate as CERT members. Initial goals for JUCCC include: * To promote basic home and neighborhood/workplace emergency response skills throughout the Judson University community. * To provide leadership in hazard identification and mitigation on campus and in home settings. * To provide leadership in the development and implementation of the Judson University emergency operations and continuity of operations plans. * To enlist existing student and campus groups in projects promoting volunteer opportunities, education on protecting themselves and others from harm, and ways to enable them to take a more active role in personal and public safety. * To establish a nucleus of trained volunteers who are ready and capable of safely assisting first responders in a time of crisis.
