Council Description
the core group is made up of five community volunteers each who reprensents one or more community organizations. Our mission statement is one of education to prepare our mountain town of three thousand full time residents for a potential major disaster since we live directly on the San Andreas fault at 6000ft elevation. We have been running fund raisers to buy a supply trailer for medical supplies to treat 1000 injured, supplies will be purchased by this May. We have been working with Dennis West of the San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services. Our group meets weekly to set up projects and fundraisers to address the community needs. We have had a CERT trainer teaching a modified one day course for Disaster Survival. We look forward to a more comprehensive program in light of the fact we are two miles from a major ski resort who does not yet have a plan to deal with trapped snow players if in fact all ways in to the town are blocked by landslides etc...
