Council Description
The main goal of the Hawthorn Woods Citizen Corps Council will be to participate in the creation of a regional CERT team which will include volunteers from similar neighboring communites. The Hawthorn Woods Citizen Corps Council will also address public education and outreach efforts to inform the public about important steps such as: developing a household disaster plan and disaster supplies kits for home, work, and car; observing home health and safety practices; implementing property damage prevention measures; and participating in crime prevention and reporting. Materials will be tailored to match the threats, the needs, and the population of the community.
