Description	Friday, Saturday and Sunday September 28-30 a play Dark by Mankato author and playwright Pat Ryan will be performed in 4 shows at the Ostrander auditorium at MSU-Mankato. One show at 7pm Friday, 2 shows 2pm and 7pm Saturday and a matinee on Sunday at 2pm. Dark is a play about dreams and faith shattered by alcoholism. The story takes place in 1961. A time when America was experiencing hope, peace and the "perfect family". A time of Mickey Mantle, television and JFK. Dark explores the secret inside homes all over America. The runaway tragedy of a family in the belly of the curse of alcohol. Directed by artisan Jonas K. Nissen and cast by local, regional and National artists, an appropriate event during Recovery Month. A special post performance forum where counselors will be available for processing and referral at the 9/28 performance. Cast, director and author available for Q & A.

Description	The Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will unveil the results of the 2006 National Survey on Drug Use and Health at a press conference on Thursday, September 6. The annual survey, formerly called the Household Survey is the largest of its kind, and is the governments primary vehicle for determining how many persons are abusing illegal drugs, pharmaceuticals, alcohol and tobacco. The release of the 2006 survey results is the keynote of the annual National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month press conference marking a month long observance of the gains made by those in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, as well as treatment providers.
