HH/H Bonds
Notice: As of September 1, 2004, the U.S. Treasury is no longer issuing HH/H Savings Bonds. Investors are no longer able to reinvest HH/H Bonds or exchange EE/E Bonds for HH Bonds.
About HH/H Bonds
- HH Bonds are current-income securities.
- HH/H Bonds are no longer issued by the U.S. Treasury.
- HH Bonds were once available in exchange for EE/E Bonds or on reinvestment of matured HH/H Bonds.
HH Bond Interest Earning
- HH Bonds pay interest every 6 months until maturity or redemption, whichever comes first.
- HH/H Bonds pay a fixed interest rate every 6 months based on the purchase date of the bond.
- The interest rate is subject to change at the beginning of the extended maturity period (10 years from issue). Interest is reportable for tax purposes the year you earn it.
