> Year-End Reports
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has in the past routinely
solicited the cooperation of registered manufacturers in providing
statistical data on Schedule I and II controlled substances, as well as
information on certain Schedule III-V psychotropic
substances. Similarly, this letter
presently requests your cooperation for the reporting of statistical
data for the 2007 reporting year (i.e. calendar year 2006 data). Upon
receipt by the DEA, the information will be used to establish the
revised 2007 and initial 2008 procurement and manufacturing quotas for
Schedule I and II controlled substances as well as for the preparation
of statistical reports for 2006 and estimates for 2007 and 2008, DEA
requirements in accordance with its United Nations (UN) treaty
obligations.
As many are aware, the Office of Diversion Control launched a
software application on its website (www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov) for the
2003 reporting year (i.e. calendar year 2002 data). The Manufacturer’s
Year-End Report Generator (version 1.0.0) was developed to provide an
easier and more efficient method of preparing and submitting statistical
reports to the DEA. The program was successful in that it assisted
manufacturers by reducing the errors submitted on Year-End Reports and
thus significantly reduced DEA’s requests for follow-up information.
For the current reporting year,
manufacturers of Schedule I and II substances are requested to use the
same software application. No updates to the
software have been made. Those manufacturers that did not use the
software last year are encouraged to do so this year.
As mentioned in the user
guide, completed report packages are
submitted on a 3.5" diskette. Also, please include one (1) hard
copy of each Report submitted in the report package. Please send the
diskette and hard copy Report(s), no later than January 31,
2008,
to the following address by commercial carrier* (i.e. – FedEx,
Airborne, UPS, DHL or etc.) to:
