Partners

Complex projects such as the TIMSS series of studies cannot be accomplished by only one agency or organization. Throughout the course of TIMSS, the National Center for Education Statistics has relied on its partners to provide support in every aspect of the study. Listed below are the many partners in TIMSS:

Visit International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement website

The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) serves as the international coordinating body for the TIMSS studies.

Visit Boston College TIMSS website

The TIMSS International Study Center at Boston College directs the studies at the international level including the design, operations, analysis, and reporting.

Visit National Science Foundation website

The National Science Foundation (NSF) provides funding for the U.S. portion of the TIMSS studies, as well as valuable guidance as the studies progress.

Visit LessonLab website

LessonLab, Inc. of Los Angeles, California collected the data for the TIMSS 1999 Video Study in eighth-grade mathematics and science classes in seven countries.

Visit Westat website

Westat handled data collection in the United States for TIMSS 1995, 1999, and 2003, and is a subcontractor to Windwalker Corporation for the 2007 data collection.

Visit Windwalker website

Windwalker Corporation is under contract to collect TIMSS 2007 data in the United States.
