The Vermont Disability Program Navigator Initiative provides dedicated professionals to assist persons with disabilities find, gain access, enter or reenter the job market.
The Navigators use their technical knowledge of the various Social Security Administration and Department of Labor employment support programs and are not limited in the scope of service they can provide to youth, adults or seniors.
Working together with the One-Stop Resource Center staff, counselors from other state agencies, employers, advocates and the disability population in general, the Navigator is the point-person that brings them all together.
The Navigator position is intended to increase employment and self-sufficiency for persons with disabilities by linking them to employers and by facilitating access to supports and services that will enable transition to employment.
