Request Trade Mark Usage

Please review the following guidelines on the use of the Citizen Corps marks, logos or banners. If you wish to use the Citizen Corps marks, logos or banners, you may either fill in and submit the application form electronically on the web, or print it and mail a completed form or a letter containing the requested information to the following address:

Please explain or provide examples of how the marks, logos or banners will be used by your organization. By requesting permission to use the Citizen Corps marks, logos or banners, you agree to the following terms or conditions of use:
 
I. Use of Citizen Corps Logo, Marks, and Banners
 
Citizen Corps is a national symbol. The Citizen Corps logo is a legally protected service mark and trademark which is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is exclusively held by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
 
As owner of the Citizen Corps marks, logos and banners, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has the legal responsibility to protect its trademark, including all of its various forms and uses.
 
To maintain the credibility and integrity of the Citizen Corps logo as a trademark or service mark, Citizen Corps must protect it from any intentional or misguided use. These guidelines do not give presumptive approval for the use of the Citizen Corps marks, logos or banners. Individual written, prior approval must be obtained by application to Citizen Corps.
 
II. Conditions for Using The Citizen Corps Logo, Mark or Banners
 
The following standards explain and govern the use of the Citizen Corps logo, marks, and banners:
 
  1. The Citizen Corps marks or logos must be used primarily in connection with all hazards community and family safety, emergency preparedness, disaster response, and recovery activities.
  2. The marks or logos may not be used in any way or manner that implies the endorsement of any person, product, program or service.
  3. No one may manufacture for sale a product containing or featuring the logo, marks or banners.
  4. Anyone who receives written permission to use the logo, marks or banners incurs an obligation and fiduciary duty to maintain the integrity and consistency of the logo, marks or banners.
  5. Use of the logos, marks or banners without approval or in an inappropriate manner may result in legal action. Upon notice from Citizen Corps, the licensee agrees to discontinue use of the logo, marks or banners.
 
III. Obtaining Permission to Use the Citizen Corps Logo, Mark or Banners
 
Anyone who receives written permission to use the Citizen Corps logo, marks or banners incurs an obligation and fiduciary duty to maintain the integrity and consistency of the logo, marks or banners. Use of the Citizen Corps logo, marks or banners without approval or in an in appropriate manner may result in legal action.

Note: Citizen Corps reserve the right to rescind any prior approval of a use if the User is not complying with these guidelines and any conditions for use set forth in the approval letter. By applying for permission to use the Citizen Corps marks, logos or banners, you acknowledge that right, and agree to hold Citizen Corps harmless from any liability/damage in your exercise of that right in using the Citizen Corps marks, logos or banners.
