Q. How safe is an airline?
A. The Federal Aviation Administration monitors an airline's safety standard, you may visit their website at www.faa.gov for a list of airlines that meet safety standards or contact the Office of Flight Standards Service at (202) 267-3353.

Certificated Air Carriers
Q. I wanted to know if a certain carrier has filed for a certificate?
A. The Office of Air Carrier Fitness maintains a current listing of all commuter/certificated air carriers and those who have filed for a fitness (air carrier economic authority) certification. Please visit the website for an application package and/or to download a listing of certificated/commuter air carriers or certificated/commuter applicants, or contact the office at (202) 366-9721 for additional information.

Q. Where can I find an Essential Air Service (EAS) information packet?

Public Charters
Q. How do I know if a certain charter has been approved for service, and what happens if we are stranded?
A. The Special Authorities Office is responsible for maintaining a list of approved public chartered flights, you may visit the website for a listing or contact the Special Authorities Office at (202) 366-2396 for additional information. To apply for a public charter, please visit the website to download applications, or contact the office for a package.

Q. How do I receive grant money from the Small Business Administration?
