Robert C. Patrick: Regional Administrator for Region 6

Robert Patrick: Region 6 Administrator On October 10, 2000 Robert C. Patrick joined the Federal Transit Administration as Regional Administrator for Region 6 in Fort Worth, Texas. He is responsible for representing the FTA Administrator in Region 6, which includes the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. He provides executive direction to a professional staff of 18 people responsible for grant development and program management.

Prior to joining the FTA, Mr. Patrick served the transit industry from 1973 to 2000 in a variety of ever-increasing responsible positions. He has represented transit agencies as general manager, assistant general manager, Director of Operations and as Director of Marketing in Portland, Oregon; Memphis, Tennessee; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Walnut Creek, California and Oakland, California.

He also served as a carrier-based attack pilot with the United States Navy from 1967 to 1972 at which time he was honorably discharged. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He was born in Houston, Texas into a military family and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Asia and Europe.

He has received numerous awards for his leadership, operational and cost-effective programs and for the promotion and advancement of minorities and women from the American Public Transit Association. He has also served on executive boards of local, State and national charities and transit related organizations.
