Mayor Martin J Chavez in Kitchen with Rug

Mayor Martin J. Chavez joins his mother and cousin for some home cooking.

The City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County under the umbrella of its Department of Senior Affairs, offers seniors (those 50+) a wide array of services and opportunities to enhance our community's quality of life.

From services for active and healthy seniors to services for frail, homebound elderly, the Department of Senior Affairs provides activities and opportunities to involve you in our community and to promote active, healthy aging, as well as a  continuum of care especially designed to meet individual needs throughout the aging spectrum.

For a July - December 2008 Activities Catalog or a copy of our latest Planet 50+ publication  of classes, special events, activites and more, call or vist your local senior center or call our Senior Information Line at 764-6400. Our senior centers offer classes in the evenings and Saturdays and with more flexible hours for those who are still in today's workforce.

Membership

Persons 50 years and older may become center member for $13.00 a year and memberships are valid at all six senior centers and Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center as well as Palo Duro Senior Sports and Fitness Center.
