Double Eagle II Airport

Welcome to Double Eagle IIDouble Eagle II Airport (AEG),on Albuquerque's west side is an active general aviation facility. There are approximately 240 based aircraft and approximately 120,000 annual operations comprised of training flights, military flights, air ambulance, charter, private and corporate flights.

The airport has two runways; runway 4-22 is 7,398 feet in length by 100 feet wide, has full ILS and is equipped with a MALSR on the runway 22 end. Runway 17-35 is 5,999 feet in length by 100 feet wide, and has REIL on each end.  Runway 4 and 17 are equipped with PAPI visual navigational aide.Traffic pattern altitude is 6,800' mean sea level.There are right hand traffic patterns for runways 22 and 35.

The airport sits at an elevation of 5,834 feet above sea level and is located approximately eight miles north of Interstate 40 at the top of "Nine Mile Hill" on Albuquerque's West Mesa. Facilities include two runways; 4-22 - 7,400 ft. x 100 ft., and runway 17-35 - 6,000 ft. x 100 ft. a full scale Instrument Landing System is available for runway 22, and visual navaid on other runways.

Double Eagle II Airport is located on the west side of the City near the Petroglyph National Monument and is accessible from both Interstate 40 and Interstate 25.

From the South: Proceed west on Interstate 40...nine miles from the Big-I Interchange. Exit #149 Paseo Del Volcan. Continue north on Paseo Del Volcan 8 miles.

From the North: Heading south on I-25, exit westbound on Paseo Del Norte. Continue westbound on Paseo Del Norte to Universe. Continue west on Paseo Del Norte the road will curve around to southbound and becomes Paseo Del Volcan. Continue straight ahead approximately 5 miles direct to Double Eagle II Airport.
