Build 129, released on April 28, contained many instances where multiple
human rs numbers mapped to the same location due to underclustering of
new submitted SNPs (ss). This update fixes the underclustering
problem (More...).

Attention dbSNP user:
We discovered an error in our assignment of functional
class as it appears in the b127 XML files. The processing error
affected approximately 380,000 SNPs.
This error did NOT affect the b127 database tables.
To correct this problem, the dbSNP re-created the XML files
entirely on Friday, April 20, 2007.
If you have already processed the XML files before they were recreated, and would like to
fix the function class, one solution is to update the function
class by processing the database tables,
b127_SNPContigLocusId_36_2.bcp.gz and SnpFunctionCode.bcp.gz
that contain the correct function class codes.
These tables are on the ftp site:
ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/snp/organisms/human_9606/database/organism_data
And
ftp://ftp.ncbi.nih.gov/snp/organisms/human_9606/database/shared_data/
If you have specific questions regarding this error please
contact us at snp-admin@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this error may have
caused.
Best regards,
dbSNP Staff.
