Freeman
Asia Awards for Study in Asia
A recent survey found that only about 5% of study abroad students
went to East and Southeast Asia, with the majority going to Japan
or China. Yet, there are over a hundred programs to choose from
in East and Southeast Asia. The Freeman Awards for study in Asia
(Freeman-ASIA) are intended to help fill this gap.

Russian
and East European Studies Consortium
at Arizona State University "administers research, training,
and outreach programs involving the lands and people of Eastern
Europe and Eurasia." It also offers language training in Romanian,
Serbo-Croatian, Macedonian, and Tatar and offers in-country summer
language study. The Consortium will accept applicants from any college
or university and assist students in finding funding.
